PURPOSE:To increase the formation efficiency of plates by alternately placing positive plates each of which is slantingly positioned in such a manner as to locate its lugs protruding from its both sides in its upper end and negative plates each of which is slantingly positioned in such a manner as to locate its lugs protruding from its both sides in its lower end, and feeding a current to the positive plates through a formation conductor which is in contact with their lower lugs and to the negative plates through a formation conductor which is in contact with their lower lugs. CONSTITUTION:A desired number of negative plates 2 each positioned with its both lugs 4 and 4' located in its lower end and a desired number of positive plates 1 each positioned with its both lugs 3 and 3' located in its upper end are placed in a formation container 6 with separators interposed. The positive plates 1 are slanted to the right while the negative plates 2 are slanted to the left. The positive plates 1 are supported by suspension bars 5 and 5', which support the lugs 3 and 3' and are located at different levels. The lower bar 5' touching the lugs 3' is prepared from a formation conductor and the other bar 5 is prepared from a synthetic resin. The lower lugs 4 of the negative plates 2 are placed on a seat 7 consisting of a formation conductor while the other lugs 4' of the negative plate 2 are placed on a seat 8 made of an acid-proof synthetic resin. |
