PURPOSE:To easily form a wear resistant sintered layer on the vane surfaces of an impeller with good workability by pressing a self-fluxing alloy powder sheet contg. Ni-base self-fluxing alloy powder and org. high-polymer binder to the metallic vanes of the impeller and sintering the sheet by heating. CONSTITUTION:The self-fluxing alloy powder sheet contg. the Ni-base or Co- base self-fluxing alloy powder (about <=100mu average particle size) and org. high-polymer binder (rubber, polymer, etc.) is pressed to the many metallic vane surfaces of the impeller. The thickness of the self-fluxing alloy powder sheet is made about 0.05-10mm and the org. high-polymer binder is used at about 1-30pts.wt. by 100pts.wt. Ni-base or Co-base self-fluxing alloy powder. A thermosetting resin (epoxy resin, etc.) may be intervened between the sheet and the vanes. The impeller is then heated at a heating up rate of about 10-40 deg.C/min in an inert gaseous atmosphere in such a manner that the final heating temp. is about 900-1,200 deg.C and the impeller is held at said temp. for about 5-180min to sinter the sheet. The wear resistant sintered layer is thus easily formed on the vane surfaces.
