PURPOSE:To attain excellent sound reproduction without the need for trouble of changeover by the user by switching the band width of an intermediate frequency filter of a sound circuit automatically corresponding to the frequency shift of an FM sound signal in the selected sound mode. CONSTITUTION:A reception means 1 receives a broadcast signal formed by FM-modulating a prescribed carrier by a signal where the carrier is placed at the upper frequency band of a video signal and the FM sound signal of the plural sound modes having a frequency shift in response to the sound mode is multiplexed. A sound mode selection means 2 selects the received sound mode among plural sound modes. A band switching means 3 switches a frequency band of an intermediate frequency filter of the sound circuit of the reception means 1. When the sound mode selection means 2 selects the received sound mode, the band width mode selection means 2 selects the received sound mode, the band width switching means 3 switches the frequency band width of the intermediate frequency filter to a value corresponding to the frequency shift of the FM sound signal of the selected sound mode.
