Sulphided platinum on hydrocarbon - catalyst

The catalyst is prepared by suspending a granular platinum- on-carbon catalysts, with an active surface area of more than 800 m2/g. in an aqueous medium, pH 0-5, and saturating it with hydrogen. Each mol of catalyst is then treated with 0.3-0.7 mol of a sulphiding agent. The catalyst is used for conversion of halogenated nitro-aromatics to the corresponding amnes.
