Heat exchanger, esp. preheater using hot exhaust gases flowing around tubes to preheat combustion air, has L-shaped tubes. Each comprises two parallel L-shaped lengths communications at one end, their other ends constituting the inlet and outlet. Inlet and outlet are mounted close together in two complementary parts of a single tube-plate. This forms the anchor point, the tubes being free to expand longitudinally between lateral supports. L-shaped side wall is pref. removable from housing. |
