<p>Polyamide reinforced with =20 vol % glass fibres is used as the base for the needle strip, and created with epoxy resin. The steel needles are either inserted into drillings in a press fit, or applied while the polyamide is being extruded or moulded, while the plastic is still soft, to give better anchorage through the profiled base of the needles. The purpose is to give a lighter strip, resistant to chemicals and temps. used in fabric finishing processes while holding the fabric under tension.</p> |
