<p>PURPOSE:To accelerate methane fermentation by charging an insoluble carrier having a specified surface area into a reactor, naturally depositing microbes on the carrier, and anaerobically treating medium-concn. org. waste water with use of the obtained bioreactor. CONSTITUTION:The insoluble carrier 11 (e.g., a natural mineral, cristobalite) having >=10m<2>/g surface area is charged into the reactor 1, microbes are naturally deposited on the carrier 11 in the reactor 1, the concn. of the microbes is kept high, and the fluidized bed of the carriers is formed. Waste water contg. <=10,000mg/l BOD is anaerobically treated by using the bioreactor thus obtained. Consequently, the concn. of the microbes in the reactor is increased, methane fermentation is accelerated, and medium-concn. org. waste water can be efficiently treated.</p> |
