PURPOSE:To remove an interference between tools and to double storing ability of the tool, by arranging the axial line direction of tool pots to be tilted at a predetermined angle for the moving direction of a traverser further concurrently using the first and second tool storage racks so that a tool carrier and the traverser are used in common. CONSTITUTION:The axial line direction of tool pots 2 is tilted by a predetermined angle theta for the moving direction of a traverser 5, and when a tool 1 is supplied, an interference of the main unit of a tool carrier 4 with tool holding arms 6a, 6b, mounted to the carrier, or an interference of the tool, selected by a program, with a stored tool 1 in the vicinity of a take out position is removed. Next the first tool storage rack 3a provides in its vicinity the second tool storage rack 3b of the same construction to be arranged opposing a tool exchange surface, and the carrier 4 juxtaposes a rotary driving gear 7 of the first tool holding arm 6a, tool mounting and removing air cylinder mechanism 30 and a linear driving gear 31, thus a cooperative mechanism of the traverser 5 with the carrier 4 is formed between the storage racks 3a and 3b. Accordingly, the tool can be arranged always in a standby position in double quantity as compared with that using a single storage rack. |
