In a sliding contact connection between two conductors (1, 2), the current transfer takes place via a contact element (3) which is arranged in a slot (4) in the contact surface of the one conductor (2). The contact element (3) consists of a resilient wire which is wound in the form of a helix or in a similar manner. Before installation in the slot (4), the contact element is formed, for example by pressing, such that all the wire windings have a certain inclination with respect to the longitudinal axis of the contact element.
