PURPOSE:To aim at improvement in accelerability, by increasing and compensating an accelerating increment rate when an engine misfires, in case of a device which performs feedback control over an air-fuel ratio with a lean sensor. CONSTITUTION:Each detection value of an air flow meter 15, a throttle opening sensor 18, a lean sensor 21, etc., is inputted into an electronic control unit 27 which controls the valve opening time of an injector 19 so as to cause an air- fuel ratio to be situated more at the lean side than a theoretical air-fuel ratio in the specified driving zone. When a misfire occurs and output of the lean sensor 21 is varied, the electronic control unit 27 performs increase and compensation in a way of multiplying an accelerating increment rate corresponding to the throttle varied speed at the time of acceleration by a compensation factor.
