PURPOSE:The titled diamine, obtained by coating the surface of a granular toxic aromatic diamine with a specific organic coating agent, preventing the dusting in use or transport without damaging essential performance as a curing agent, etc., and having improved safety. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a granular aromatic diamine consisting of 4,4'- methylene bis(2-chloroaniline), etc., useful as a curing agent for polyurethane, epoxy resin, polyamide resin, polyimide resin, etc., is coated with a coating agent consisting of a synthetic resin, having >=9.0 solubility parameter, preferably urethane based, epoxy based, phenol based or/and vinyl chloride based synthetic resin, particularly epoxy resin to eliminate contact with the human body by dusting in use or transport and sticking to packaging containers and afford the aimed granular aromatic diamine of safe shape without adversely affecting physical properties of a polymer produced by using the aromatic diamine as a curing agent.
