<p>Coating compsns. in powder form with long storage life and giving excellent coatings when stoved obtained by heating a mixture of an epoxide compd. with mol.wt. 500 and an epoxy value >0.3 (esp. those based on bisphenol A and epichlorhydrin or alicyclic diepoxides) with cyclohexane-1,2-dicarboxylic anhydride to melting (about 40-60 degrees C) pouring the melt onto a suitable surface to form a thin layer, reacting the mixture at about 120 degrees C till its m.pt. is 50-120 degrees C cooling the melt and powdering the solid. The powder when stoved on a suitable surface at >120 degrees C gives excellent coatings.</p> |
