PURPOSE:To improve the yield of manufacture, by arranging the grooves of rollers in conformity with the groove pitches on head core raw material so that said raw material can be cut by a multi-wire saw in the case of a device which makes a plurality of magnetic head cores at once by cutting the head core raw material. CONSTITUTION:A workpiece 13 is adhesively united in one body, through an insulating layer, with head core raw material 1 having grooves. And, pitches of said grooves have accumulated errors. Now, pitches of guide grooves of rollers 14 are put in conformity with the groove pitches of the head core raw material 1. And, slurry is supplied from a nozzle 17 to a processing section as well as said roller 14 is reciprocally rotated in order to move wires 16 reciprocally. In this condition, a processing stand 11 is raised in order to press the workpiece 13 against the wires 16 and to simultaneously cut the head core raw material 1 at the groove parts. Now, since the groove pitches in the previous process coincide with wire pitches, the yield of manufacture can be improved. |
