PURPOSE:To lessen the capacitance of a memory, by a method wherein a character pattern is devided into many sub-patterns and the repetition frequency data of the same sub-pattern are memorized by watching the sub-pattern data successively obtained. CONSTITUTION:A 32X32 dot matrix character pattern is considered as a set of sub-patterns of 1Xl(l=8) dot and the sub-pattern data of 8(l) bit successively obtained by scanning in a sub-pattern unit are noted. Then, when the same sub-pattern is repeated not less than a preliminarily determined number of times, the first word consisting of this same sub-pattern data and the control bit of a logical value [logical value (1)] and the second word consisting of the repetition frequency data and the control data of a logical value [logical value (0)] are memorized. When the repetition of the same sub-pattern does not reach the frequency preliminarily determined, the third word consisting of that sub-pattern data and the control bit of the second logical value [logical value (0)] is memorized. Thereby, the character pattern can be memorized with a less memory capacitance. |
