PURPOSE:To perform surface treatment for improving coatability within a short time without the need of an after-cure step, by treating a reaction injection-molded polyurethane molding with a plasma of an oxygen gas- containing reaction gas at a specified temperature and degreasing and washing it. CONSTITUTION:A reaction injection-molded polyurethane molding 1 is kept at a surface temperature of 80-120 deg.C and exposed to a plasma of a reaction gas containing oxygen to effect forced migration to the surface, volatilization and deposition of unreacted component 2 such as a polyol or an isocyanate. This exposure facilitates the decomposition of strains 4 such as a mold release and oil adhering to the surface of the molding 1 and the formation of carbonyl groups and carboxyl groups 3 which can improve coatability of the surface and the cleavage of carbon-carbon bonds to bring the surface to a state of powdery chalking 5. The stains 4 and the chalking layer 5 are removed by degreasing and washing, and the molding is top-coated. |
