PURPOSE:To accurately detect the quantity of intake air by branching off the lower course part of an intake passage into plural branch passages, providing a displacement type supercharger on each branch passage, and setting the operating phases of said superchargers in such a way that the pulsations of intake air due to said superchargers mutually offset. CONSTITUTION:The lower course side of an intake passage 6 from an intake air quantity detecting means 8, is branched off into two branch passages 9, 10, and displacement type superchargers 11, 12 which are driven by an engine 1 via chain mechanisms 22, 23, are provided on the branch passages 9, 10 respectively. A surge tank 16 is connected to a confluence part on the lower course ends of the branch passages 9, 10, and a throttle valve 17 and a fuel injection valve 18 are provided in order on an intake passage 6 on the lower course of the tank 16. And, the operating phases of the superchargers 11, 12, i.e., the intake and discharge timings of the superchargers 11, 12, are shifted from each other, to set the phases of the intake-air pulsations which act on the positions A, B of the branch passages 9, 10, to be shifted from each other by 180 deg. (1/2 period).
