PURPOSE:To obtain a composite resin in which filler particles are highly dispersed, by polymerizing microparticulate filler particles (agglomerates) carrying a specified initiator with a polymerizable monomer. CONSTITUTION:Microparticulate filler particles (agglomerates) (a) of a weight- average particle diameter <=5mu (e.g., BaTiO3 microparticles) is mixed with a cation polymerization initiator (e.g., C2H5AlCl2) or an anion polymerization initiator (e.g., K) (b) to obtain filler particles (A) carrying component (b) on the surface. Component A is polymerized with a polymerizable monomer (B) which is an organic compound having a C-C double bond (e.g., isobutyl vinyl ether) in the presence of, optionally, a solvent (e.g., n-hexane) to obtain a composite resin in which at least 0.1wt%, preferably, at least 0.5wt% component (A) is dispersed.
