PURPOSE:To improve durability without deteriorating magnetic characteristics by incorporating pulverized particles of a metal or alloy into plural layer of thin ferromagnetic films formed on a nonmagnetic base. CONSTITUTION:The thin ferromagnetic film 2 and the thin ferromagnetic film 3 contg. the pulverized particles 4 of the metal or alloy are provided as magnetic layers on the nonmagnetic base and the surface characteristic of the film 3 which is the magnetic layer is controlled by the pulverized particles 4, by which the coefft. of friction is decreased and durability is improved. Peak-shaped projections are formed by internally adding the pulverized inorg. particles of calcium carbonate, silica, alumina, etc. to a high-polymer film in the stage of forming said film. Wrinkle-like projections are formed by coating a dilute soln. of a resin, for which, for example, a specific solvent mixture is used, on the substrate and drying the coating. The surface characteristic of the thin ferromagnetic films is thereby controlled and the durability is improved.
