The invention comprises dyestuffs which in the form of their free acids have the general formula wherein Pc is an optionally metallized (copper or nickel) phthalocyanine radical, a and c are numbers from 1 to 3, b is 0 to 2, and the sum a + b + c does not exceed 4. They are prepared by condensing 2,3-dichloroquinoxaline-6-carboxylic acid chloride with the corresponding amino phthalocyanine compound, preferably a pH 4À5 to 7 at 30‹ to 80‹ C. in presence of an acid binding agent. The quinoxaline acid chloride may be used in solution, suspension or emulsion form. The dyes give turquoise shades on wool, synthetic polyamides, cotton, linen and viscose rayon. The amino phthalocyanine starting material is prepared by reacting a phthalocyanine sulphochloride with N-acyl-N,N-dimethyl-ethylenediamine and hydrolytically splitting off the acyl group. |
