A stable solid vitamin-containing composition comprises from 90% to 97% by weight of sodium ascorbate and from 3% to 10% by weight of pregelatinized starch. When in the form of a granular powder and in the presence of a lubricating agent, and if required a further granular vitamin preparation, the composition may be directly compressed into tablets. The composition may also contain lactose and any conventional lubricating agent may be employed. Other vitamins which may be present in the composition include vitamins A, D, E, and B, e.g. vitamin A acetate, vitamin E acetate, thiamine imononitrate, riboflavinyl, pyridoxine HCl calcium pantothenate, nicotinamide and vitamin B 12 . |
