PURPOSE:To enable a safer running operation to be performed, by selecting a speed change diagram corresponding to a road condition and automatically controlling a speed change position on the basis of the selected speed change diagram. CONSTITUTION:Data of a speed change position diagram for a flatland road and of a speed change diagram for a mountain path are stored in memory in a ROM 51, and a CPU52, inputting outputs from a car speed sensor 1, acceler ator sensor 3, shift range switch 3 and a road condition selector switch 4, fetches a speed change diagram in accordance with a road condition from the ROM 51. And plural solenoid values 6 are controlled on the basis of said speed change diagram. In this way, a safer running operation can be performed by enabling an engine brake to be effectively applied and a fade phenomenon due to a foot brake to be prevent. |
