PURPOSE:To permit to control and manage a plurality of terminal machines together without neglecting the individual functions of the terminal machines by a method wherein respective slave machines, provided in parallel to a plurality of terminal machines, are connected to a master machine, controlling and monitoring respective slave machines together, to form the communication relation of transmission and receiving while an indicating operation, coinciding with the address of a specified slave machine, in which communication is failed, is effected through the communication relation. CONSTITUTION:When there is an abnormality in the slave machine 4 of No.2, a transmission signal 5-A from a master machine 5 is transmitted to the slave machine 4 of No.1 and a signal 4-1 is returned from the slave machine 4 of No.1. Next, the same signal is transmitted to the slave machine 4 of No.2 and if there is no return transmission within a receiving period, communication is failed. Subsequently, the same signal is transmitted to the slave machine 4 of No.3 in the same manner and when the failure of communication between the slave machine 4 of No.2 is continued by several times, the master machine 5 decides that the slave machine 4 of No.2 is abnormal and a failure of communication indicating lamp 24b in the indicating section of the master machine 5 is lightened to indicate the abnormality by 2 times of lamp extinguishing period during a given period. According to this operation, the place of trouble in a terminal machine and a communication cable 6 may discovered.
