<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a sensor which satisfies the simplification of a device and the improvement of accuracy by irradiating light to a film which has the structure of a diffraction grating and generates a state change by gas and detecting the diffraction light thereof. CONSTITUTION:The light emitted from a light source 1 is made incident on the diffraction grating provided on the film 2 which generates a state change by gas. The diffracted light is detected by a photodetector 3 and the change of the gas concn. or gas compsn. is measured from the change of the diffracted light. A polyacrylic acid, polyethylene oxide, acetate, cellulose, etc. are usable for detecting steam and gas of polar solvents such as alcohol and ketone as the high-polymer material to be used for the film 2. This sensor is based on the effect that the high-polymer film swells and shrinks according to a change of the gas concn., etc. A state change is generated in this kind of molecules by an electric field, magnetic field, pH concn., temp., etc., as well and the film is usable for detecting the same.</p> |
