PURPOSE:To avoid an engine stop, at a slow speed revolution of an engine lower than an idle revolution, by delaying an ignition timing and compensating an idle revolution compensation means in a direction where the number of engine revolution is increased synchronously with a delay angle. CONSTITUTION:In accordance with the number of engine revolution which was detected by means of a revolution detection means 1 based on revolution detection signals from a distributor 6, an ignition timing control means 2 controls the ignition timing of an ignition plug 9. In this case, a compensation instruction means 4 is provided for giving an ignition timing control means 2 a compensation instruction for delaying the ignition timing the number of revolution at an idle time is lower than the prescribed number of revolution which is lower than the number idle revolutions previously stored. At the same time, through the instruction means 4, a compensation instruction is given to an idle revolution control means 3 so as to increase the number of revolution of an engine thereby opening a valve mechanism 12 in a bypass passage 11 arranged such that the throttle valve 10 of an intake passage 7 can be bypassed.
