PURPOSE:To improve the durability of a starting clutch and prevent any increase in the size of a transmission gear by mounting a dry clutch on an input shaft as a starting friction clutch, while said dry clutch connecting and disconnecting the input shaft to and from an engine output shaft. CONSTITUTION:An input shaft 10 and an engine output shaft 3 are connected to each other via a dry clutch 52, whereby constituting a starting friction clutch. If the friction plate of the starting friction clutch may be worn, the power transmitting function can be kept satisfactorily by a simple adjusting work so that the durability of the starting friction clutch can be improved. In addition, if a friction plate of larger diameter is adopted, said plate will not interface with a countershaft so that the transmission gear can be prevented from any increase in its size attributed to increase in a distance between the parallel two shafts.
