PURPOSE:To restrain abnormal vibration from occurring due to dropping of a heavy weight onto a printer, external vibrations or the like and prevent a vibration-damping effect from being lowered due to the deformation of elastic bodies, by providing guard members for guarding a heavy weight by restricting the position of the latter in vertical and horizontal directions in a plane orthogonal to the oscillating direction of the heavy weight, with some clearance between the heavy weight and each of the guard members. CONSTITUTION:On a bottom frame 10, guard members 23, 23 are provided at an intermediate part in the oscillating direction of a heavy weight 22 so as to surround the upper, lower and side faces of the heavy weight 22 in a plane orthogonal to the oscillating direction. The guard members 23, 23 are disposed with some clearance from the peripheral surface of the heavy weight 22, and restrict the movements of the latter in the vertical and horizontal directions in the plane orthogonal to the oscillating direction of the heavy weight 22. On the frame 10, stoppers 24, 24 are also provided respectively on both sides of the heavy weight 22 in the oscillating direction, with a fixed spacing therebetween, which is set to be slightly larger than the desired amplitude of the heavy weight 22 in vibration damping.
