PURPOSE:To extend a specific-voltage maintaining time in discharge, by furnishing plural projecting lines on one side and recessed grooves to gear with the projecting lines on the other side, at the combining surface of a zinc electrode and a chlorine electrode in a bipolar electrode, and contacting closely the zinc electrode and the chlorine electrode. CONSTITUTION:A chlorine electrode 5 is furnished through a collector plate 4 at one side terminal 2, while a zinc electrode 6 is furnished at the other side terminal 3, and between them, plural bipolar electrodes 7 combining a chlorine electrode 5a and a zinc electrode 6a are arranged. An electrolyte composed mainly of zinc chloride is poured to form a zinc-chlorine cell to feed a high output in a short time. In this case, the bipolar electrode 7 is formed by furnishing projecting lines 5b on the combination surface of the chlorine electrode 5a while forming recessed grooves 6b to gear with the projecting lines 5b on the zinc electrode 6a, and combining them each other. Therefore, the uneven electrical connection on the combination surface can be prevented and the even distribution of the current flow is obtained, to delay the voltage drop in the discharging condition. |
