PURPOSE:To easily detect a positioning gap of a funnel and a panel in the sealing process, by furnishing a measuring bases with base lines oriented with the tube axis at the peripherys of the panel skirt and the funnel on both sides of the sealing surface. CONSTITUTION:A color picture tube is formed by baking-sealing the skirt 2a of a panel 2 and a funnel 1 at the sealing surface 3. In this case, at the panel skirt 2a near the sealing surface 3, are furnished the first measuring bases 10A to 10C, while at the funnel 1, are furnished the second measuring bases 11A to 11C responding to the bases 10A to 10C. Their base lines 10A1 to 10C1, and 11A1 to 11C1 are all oriented in the direction of the tube axis respectively. When a positioning gap between the funnel 1 and the panel 2 is tried to find, the length between the base lines 10B1 and 11B1, for example, is measured by a simple gauge 13. Therefore, a large size of measuring jig or the like is not required, and the measurement is very easy.
