PURPOSE:To facilitate an input of a graphic form, etc. by tracing a screen by fingers, etc. to secure the direct input of pictures, partial magnification, etc. CONSTITUTION:Functions are selected by a function-based screen input key 51 set on a keyboard 5. When a screen input indicating instruction is given from the keyboard 5, such types of the instruction are decoded as cursor shift, partial magnification, picture shift, graphic input, etc. Then the mode switching actions are carried out with both a reception means 1 and a screen control means 3 in accordance with said decoding result. When the mode instructs the cursor shift, the cursor is traced by a finger for shift on the screen. While a part to be magnified is enclosed by fingers if a magnification mode is instructed. Then the finger locus is displayed when a graphic input mode is instructed.
