PURPOSE:To prevent constituents of a recording medium from exuding from the roll of the medium when it is left in a high-temperature condition, by providing hardened layers of a specified active radiation curable substance on side surfaces of a thermal transfer recording medium. CONSTITUTION:Hardened layers 3 of an active radiation curable substance are provided on side surfaces 2, 2' of a thermal transfer recording medium 1. The active radiation curable substance can be obtained by curing by polymerization at least one monomer of formula I, wherein R is H, CH3, and R' is COOR'', OR'', CONHR'' or COO(CH2)m(CF2)l-X, wherein R'' is CnH2n+1, X is H or F, n is an integer of 12-22, m is an integer of 0-3, and l is an integer of 1-10, with the proviso that R is H when R' is OR'', or a mixture of the monomer and at least one other vinyl monomer copolymerizable with the former monomer, by active radiations. |
