PURPOSE:To enable the preceding step high concentration operation with good descaling efficiency by arranging plural pickling tanks in series, by feeding a new pickling liquid to the 2nd tank and by feeding the overflow liquid thereof to the succeeding step in order. CONSTITUTION:Plural pickling tanks 2 are arranged in series from the upstream side in the progressing direction of a metal strip 1. Each pickling tank 7 constitutes a pickling liquid circulation system by connecting to a pickling liquid tank 4 via a pickling liquid feeding piping 4A and discharging piping 4B and provides a feeding pump 3 inside the feeding piping 4A. The liquid feeding piping 4A is connected at the upper part and lower part of the downstream side end part in the metal strip progressing direction of the tank main body and performs the pickling of good efficiency by feeding the liquid in counterflow for the metal strip 1 from the upper and lower parts of the tank. And a new picking liquid is fed from a new pickling liquid tank 6 by a pump 5 to the liquid tank 4 of the 2nd tank of the pickling tank 2 and overflowed by the pickling tank 2 of the succeeding step in order. The liquid overflowed from the pickling tank 2 of the final step is stored in a storage tank and fed to the pickling liquid tank 4 via a pump 8.
