PURPOSE:The polymerization of an olefin is carried out in the presence of a catalyst which has been prepared by adding an organometallic intramolecular complex, an organoaluminum compound and an electron donor to the components of polymerization catalyst to produce polyolefin which has good moldability, because it has a broad molecular weight distribution. CONSTITUTION:The polymerization of an olefin is conducted in the presence of a catalyst which has been prepared by adding, to a polymerization catalyst components, titanium trihalide and diethylaluminum chloride, (A) an organometallic intramolecular complex such as (3-ethoxypropyl)-i-butylaluminum hydride, (B) an organoaluminum compound of the formula (R<1>, R<2> are H, hydrocarbon residue of 1-12 carbon atoms; Y is group bearing at least one of heteroatoms which do not directly bond to Al; 0<=k, l, m<=2, k+l=3-m) such as bis(3-diethylaminopropyl) ether and (C) an electron donor such as methanol or ethyl acetate.
