PROCESS FOR PREPARING ANTIBIOTIC A 80190 AND ITS DERIVATIVES BY CULTIVATION OF NOVEL STRAINS OF MICROORGANISMS

An antibiotic, A 80190, is prepd. by cultivation of Actinomadura oligospora. Thus, Actinomadura oligospora NRRL 15878 is inoculated into a medium contg. 1% glucose, 2% sol. starch, 0.5% yeast ext., 0.5% casein hydrolysate, and 0.1% CaCO3 (pH=7.2). After 14days at 30≦̸C on plate, the cultivated strain is inoculated into 50ml culture medium. This preculture is inoculated into a production medium contg. 3% glucose, 0.4% N-Z amine A, 0.5% collagen hydrolysate, 0.05% MgSO4.7H2O, and 0.2% CaCO3 (pH=7.0) and cultivated at 30≦̸C for 8-10 days to give A 80190.
