PURPOSE:To replace a chute in a short time, by a method wherein a first and a second chute, guiding sliding of an article, are so situated as to allow movement of the first and second chutes to a regular guide position and a backward movement position, respectively, and either of the chutes is located in the regular position. CONSTITUTION:When a first chute 1 is situated in a regular position, a second chute 30 is located in a position away from and above the regular position. Under this state, the first chute 1 guides a cap 2, fed from a feed mechanism 3, to a discharge position 18, from which the cap 2 is fed to a container 20 in a higher level. Meanwhile, when the cap is fed to a container 20' in a lower level, lowering of the second chute 30 enables movement of the first chute 1 to a raising end in linkage with the lowering of the second chute. The second chute 30 guides the cap 2, fed from a feed mechanism 3, to a discharge position 18' to orderly feed the caps 2 to the container 20' in a lower level.
