PURPOSE:To decrease the magnetic resistance of a magnetic circuit by forming a lower core after the slot of a prescribed pattern is formed to the face of an insulation base. CONSTITUTION:The slot 10 of a prescribed pattern is made to the insulation substance base 1 to adhere a magnetic substance 11. The magnetic substance 11 on the face of the base 1 is removed by applying grinding to adhere the magnetic substance layer 12 on the surface of the base 1. The magnetic substance layer 12 is removed for other part than the mask pattern 13 a by using the wet etching method to form the lower magnetic core 12a on the base 1. The lower magnetic core 12a has the sufficiently larger film thickness at a rear part and no step difference exists on the upper face, a multi-layer coil 4, an insulation layer 5 and the upper magnetic core 3 are constituted sequentially to easily constitute the thin film magnetic head. |
