PURPOSE:To make it possible to print letters in correct positions by forming a sensing marking on each page of a folding type, continuous recording paper and sensing the marking by means of a marking sensor. CONSTITUTION:On a continuous recording paper 1 are formed a row of perforations 2 in the lateral direction at a constant intervals. At one end of the row of perforations 2 of the back side of the recording surface 1a of the continuous recording paper 1 is formed by means of printing or the like a recording position sensing marking 3 of an approximately constant length. Further, on the same side with the sensing marking 3 of the last page is formed a residual amount sensing marking 4. When this recording paper is set on an equipment, the sensing marking 3 and the residual amount sensing mark 4 are sensed by a marking sensor provided on the equipment. This makes it possible to control the position of recording by means of a recording head on the continuous recording paper 1 so that the recording position on each page is kept correct, eliminating the possibility of recording on the row of perforations.
