PURPOSE:To certainly feed a sheet even if a feeding roller contacts the upper surface of the sheet in vibration form by installing a start delaying means for delaying the start of revolution of a feeding roller during the lapse of a prescribed tome after the start of lowering of sheet feeding roller. CONSTITUTION:When a solenoid 30 is turned-ON, an engagement lever 3 is position-switched, and a stopper projection 29 is separated from a lever 31, and a clutch cylinder 27 starts revolution, and the revolution of a driving shaft 21 is transmitted to a feeding rotary shaft 5, and a cam shaft 9 revolves, and a cam 7 is separated from a swing arm 4, and an original-document feeding roller 2 starts lowering from a rising position. Immediately after the start of lowering, the lever 31 contacts a projection 39, and the revolution of the cylinder 27 suppressed, and rollers 2, 11, and 13 stop revolution and only the swing arm 4 swings downward to lower a roller 2 onto the upper surface of an original document D. Then, the roller 2 contacts the upper surface of the original document D, and the stable contact state is generated through the transition state of contact in vibration form. Then, the electric conduction of the solenoid 30 is suspended, and the roller 2 revolves, and the feed of the original document in stable state is started.
