PURPOSE:To use a personal computer for various applications and to relieve the load of a host computer by transmitting and receiving information of temporary intermission and restart between a cluster controller and a terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION:When personal computer groups 5, 6, 7 connected by a small sized LAN are utilized and act like plural terminal equipments of the host computer 1 from one communication line, the transmission/reception of information representing the intermission or restart is applied through the small sized LAN between the personal computer 5 acting like the cluster controller and the terminal equipment and the personal computer groups 6, 7 acting like the terminal equipments. When the information is sent from the host computer 1 via a communication line, the temporary intermission and restart of the terminal function of the personal computer groups 6, 7 acting like the terminal equipments are attained so as to connect the personal computer 5 switchingly acting like the cluser controller suitably.
