PURPOSE:To convert electrical energy given to a piezoelectric element effectively into rotational energy by arranging the piezoelectric element between rotating plates and generating progressive vibrations by the piezoelectric element so that the rotating plates are turned. CONSTITUTION:A piezoelectric motor 1 contains a true circular cylindrical housing 3 with a ceiling section 2 and a bottom plate 4 mounted to the bottom of the housing 3. A columnar section 8 as a shaft 7 is supported rotatably to a bearing 6 fitted to an inserting hole 5 for the bottom plate 4. A pair of rotating plates 10, 12 are disposed to the columnar section 8, and piezoelectric elements 15 are pressure-welded between the rotating plates 10, 12 through vibrating members 16, 17. The piezoelectric elements 15 are driven, and progressive vibrations are generated by the piezoelectric elements 15 so that the rotating plates 10, 12 are turned. |
