PURPOSE:To ensure that the strain energy of a leaf spring is uniform for all leaf springs, by providing the leaf spring with one or more holes to vary the spring constant of the leaf spring, in the course of assembly or in the final stage of assembly. CONSTITUTION:After simply assembling a printing head, test printing is conducted to measure the printing force of each print wire. Based on the result of measurement, a leaf spring 6 for the print wire having a printing force greater than a predetermined value is irradiated with a laser beam or an electron beam in the direction of an arrow A through a beam irradiation hole 18 provided in a housing 14. By the irradiation with the beam, a spring constant adjusting hole 20 is provided in the leaf spring 6. With the hole 20 provided, the cross section factor of the leaf spring 6 is varied, the spring constant of the spring 6 is lowered, and the strain energy or the printing force of the spring 6 is lowered to the predetermined value. A plurality of the leaf spring 6 show various print forces a measure in the test printing, and the number of the spring constant adjusting holes 20 to be provided in each of the leaf spring 6 is controlled according to the difference between the measured printing force of the leaf spring 6 and the predetermined printing force. |
