PURPOSE:To machine and assemble a machine tool at a low cost by machining and forming the joining parts of plural structures by means of numerically controlled electric discharge machining and making the directions and positions of the formed parts agree with each other and directly joining them. CONSTITUTION:A pair of columns 2 and a table 3 are removably provided on a pair of beds 1, and the beds 1 can slide on a pair of bases 4 and be fixed in an optional position. A beam 5 is removably mounted on the pair of columns 2. Guides 6 for guiding the beds 1 are provided on the bases 4, and these guides 6 may be machined in an integrated form with the bases 4 or manufactured separately and, then, installed to the bases 4. Vertical faces 7 for fitting in and positioning, inclined faces having an angle for removing a gap, and plane parts which are brought into contact with each other, are machined on the bed 1 and the column 2 by means of electric discharge machining. |
