<p>Cpds of formula: (of cis structure, racemic or of configuration, 1R, 2S, or 1S, 2R; either X and Y are each ethyl, or X and Y together with the C atom to which they are joined form a cyclopentane ring) and their salts with organic or mineral bases, are novel. Their esters with allethrolone, pyrethrolone and 5-benzylfur-3-yl-methanol are insecticides. They are prepd by treating the internal hemiacylal of 3,3-dimethyl-2-formylcyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid with a cpd. (Ar)3-P circled positive-CH(X)YZ circled negative (where Ar is aryl and Z is halogen) and a strong base.</p> |
