PURPOSE:To obtain a gas discharge display device which is free from color mixture and can achieve clear color display by installing barrier ribs and separators which are parallel to the cathode group and located between the cathodes and between the barrier ribs and applying a phosphor to specified areas. CONSTITUTION:On a base plate 10 made of soda glass or similar material, several parallel cathodes 20 are formed at equal intervals by a proper method such as a thick film printing method using N1 paste. Next, perpendicularly to the cathodes 20, parallel continuous barrier ribs 30 are formed with a glass paste or similar material by printing and baking. On the back surface of a transparent face plate 40 made of soda glass or similar material, several parallel anodes 50 consisting of N1 or Netha films are formed at equal intervals. Next, on areas of the above back surface located between the cathodes 20 and between the continuous barrier ribs 30, insulating separators 80 extending perpendicularly to the barrier ribs 30 are formed with a glass paste or similar material by printing and baking. A phosphor 60 for color display is applied to display areas on the face plate 40 and as necessary to the barrier ribs or the side walls of the separators 80. |
