PURPOSE:To disperse a higher alcohol into water, by dissolving the higher alcohol in a lower alcohol, blending the solution with water to precipitate fine particle higher alcohol, distilling away the lower alcohol and adding a surface active agent to the aqueous solution so that the precipitated higher alcohol is dispersed into water. CONSTITUTION:A higher alcohol mixture obtained by decomposing a natural animal or plant such as rice bran wax, etc., or 24-38C higher alcohol obtained by purifying the higher alcohol mixture by crystallization, etc., is dissolved in a lower alcohol such as ethanol, etc., the solution is then mixed with water, extremely fine particles of the higher alcohol having 0.1-5mu diameter are precipitated, the lower alcohol is further distilled away, the resulting aqueous solution is incorporated with a surface active agent such as sucrose fatty acid ester, etc., so the precipitated higher alcohol is dispersed into water, to give a water dispersion of higher alcohol. EFFECT:A higher alcohol can be used in the form of a water dispersion, can be added to foods, drugs, cosmetics, etc., and especially great improvement in food can be expected. |
