PURPOSE:To enable partitioning to be carried out without stopping a system, by a method wherein a region of a continuous form paper which regions contains a partition region is cut to a length larger than a predetermined page length. CONSTITUTION:When a partitioning command is given, a printer LBP performs a printing operation for forming a partition region of a predetermined length, such as a blank page DA, on a continuous form paper PP. At an after-treatment device APP, a region containing the partition region is cut to a length larger than a predetermined page length to form a longer business form CP' which is contained into a stacker CSU. Therefore, the business form CP' for partitioning is contained in the stacker CSU while showing a height different from the height of the other business forms CP. Accordingly, since partitioning can be automatically performed by controlling printing and cutting operations, it is unnecessitated to stop a system, and partitioning can be performed while performing a continuous operation. |
