<p>PURPOSE:To quickly and safely blow out a blast furnace at a low cost in the stage of blowing out the blast furnace to reduce the stock line by shutting off the outdoor air and making water spray cooling at the point of the time when the raw materials in the furnace falls down to a tuyere level, then calculating the water amt. and time necessary for submerging the residual raw materials and spraying water. CONSTITUTION:The blast furnace 1 is operated to reduce the stock line and is blown out when the residual raw materials 2 in the furnace fall down to the level of the tuyeres 3 in the stage of blowing down the blast furnace and blowing out the furnace to reduce the raw materials in the furnace in order to reline the furnace. All the tuyeres 3 are then closed to shut off the same from the outdoor air; thereafter the water is sprayed from a water spray pipe 4 at the furnace top to make cooling. The evaporating gas generated by the reaction of the high-temp. residual raw materials 2 and water is released from gas risers 5 at the furnace top into the atm. The water spraying rate and the time required for cooling in this period and the water spraying rate and time necessary for submerging the residual raw materials 2 and storing the water up to a middle-stage level 6 of the furnace bosh are calculated. The water spraying rate and necessary time which are the total thereof are set. The blowing out is completed by using the water spraying rate and time in an economical quantity, safely without generating explosion in the furnace.</p> |
