The relay has a coil former (1) which is used as a base body and carries a winding (6), a core and a yoke (8), one yoke longitudinal limb (8a) running above the coil, parallel to its axis. Supported on the free end of the yoke is an armature (9) which has a supporting limb (9a) (which is bent parallel to the yoke longitudinal limb) and, via this supporting limb, operates a contact spring (16) which is arranged in a contact space (5) which is introduced at the end. Provided in the coil former (1) are lateral walls (11, 12) which separate the winding space from an armature chamber (10), and the latter from the contact space (5). In addition, the coil former forms the contours of a box-shaped housing so that a housing which can be encapsulated using potting compound is produced by means of a film which is placed over the box-shaped housing and has no additional cap. <IMAGE>
