The invention relates to a surface-treated magnesium or magnesium alloy.
<??>According to the invention, it comprises a magnesium or magnesium alloy substrate, a boundary layer on the substrate and a layer of metal on the boundary layer, this metal being other than magnesium or magnesium alloy; the boundary layer is formed by mutual diffusion of magnesium and of the different metal and there are no pin holes passing from one interface of the boundary layer and the layer of the metal other than the substrate; the attached drawing shows a device for implementing the process according to the invention, where 1 is a pressure-resistant heating oven, 2 is a gas entry, 3 is a thermally insulating material, 4 is a heating element, 5 is a pedestal for supporting the sample, 6 is a tool for supporting the sample and 7 represents the sample.
