PURPOSE:To increase friction transmission torque, by boring circular holes as opening portions in one of clutch plates, boring long holes extending radially in the other clutch plate, and increasing the rigidity of the other clutch plate. CONSTITUTION:A viscous coupling 5 comprises, in an annular sealed oil chamber 8 which is defined by a circular hub 7 as an input member and a casing 9 as an output member, an outer clutch plate 10 and an inner clutch plate 11 which are spline-coupled to the casing 9 and the hub 7 are disposed overlappingly. And the outer clutch plate 10 is bored with plural circular holes, and the other inner clutch plate 11 is bored with plural long holes extending radially as oil passage holes. The other inner clutch plate 11 is provided with the long holes, so that the rigidity of the clutch plate can be increased, and the performance and the durability can be improved. |
