Sealing rings of fluoroplastic have no or hardly any restoring force. They are therefore designed, in part, either in lip form or an elastic element is allocated to them. Said elastic element, however, does not usually have the same good chemical resistance or it has other disadvantages with respect to the fluoroplastic. These disadvantages are eliminated in that the sealing ring of fluoroplastic is provided with a core of pure graphite which is covered all over seamlessly with fluoroplastic.
